For the past 27-years, The NWU Boulevard Harmonists, a 6-voice (mixed) a cappella ensemble, have been celebrating music and the joy of singing. In the OFM Art Beat, Mid-Morning Magic’s Yolanda Maartens chats to Musical Director, Kobus Venter about the history of the group and their future plans.
The group was established in 1994 and was founded by and is still part of the Potchefstroom Campus of the North West University in South Africa. The group consists of three women and three men with their program consisting of classical music of different styles, as well as popular and folk music, including a number of South African works.

The group was initiated to perform at the Standard Bank National Arts Festival in Grahamstown but has since returned for a number of performances at the festival after its success. The group also recently received an ovation award for "We're back with goosebumb a cappella” this after 5 concerts at the National Arts Festival Makhanda.
