Residents of the Matlosana Local Municipality in North West are experiencing water-shedding. The Klerksdorp-based municipality said water interruption is due to power failure at the newly installed mini substation at the Jouberton Reservoir Complex.
Municipal spokesperson, Ntswaki Makgetha, said the unplanned interruption is currently being experienced in high-lying areas of Jouberton. “This has resulted in no water being pumped to the two Jouberton Towers.”
The interruption affects the following areas – Jouberton Ext 2, Y block, Extension 9, 13 - 18, 22, 24, and Sunnyside informal settlement. Makgetha said the repairs at the affected reservoir started this morning.
“The management of the City of Matlosana apologises for the inconvenience caused,” Makgetha added.
