DA’s provincial leader in NW steps down─── 11:48 Sun, 27 Sep 2020
The Democratic Alliance’s (DA) provincial leader in North West, Joe McGluwa, will not be seeking re-election to the party's top post.
McGluwa, who has been serving as the party's provincial leader for two terms, says he will not stand for the post again, but will still remain part of the party.
In an interview with OFM News, McGluwa emphasised that it is time to give the ranks over to someone else.
He explains that he agrees with the debate around setting term limits for elected positions within the organisation - especially when it comes to provincial leaders.
McGluwa adds that it was an honour and privilege to serve the people of the North West and believes he can still play a role within the organisation.
“This is an opportune time for me to say to the next provincial leader - take the party forward,” says McGluwa.
He says he is excited for the future of the organisation and would also like to make use of the opportunity to wish every candidate well.
