Party leader of the Democratic Alliance (DA), John Steenhuisen, emphasised the significance of his experience at the 2024 Nampo Harvest Day in Bothaville, one of the largest agricultural exhibitions in the Southern Hemisphere.
Steenhuisen underscored the pivotal role of Nampo Harvest Day as a crucial meeting point for stakeholders and decision-makers in the agricultural sector. He stressed the importance of direct interaction with farmers and agricultural organisations to gain a comprehensive understanding of the industry's challenges.
Expressing his expectations for the event, Steenhuisen highlighted the need to engage with organised agricultural institutions to identify bottlenecks and issues affecting the sector. He emphasised translating these insights into actionable measures in Parliament, citing ongoing efforts to address infrastructure and port-related challenges impacting input costs and market access for farmers.
