The National Council of and for Persons with Disabilities (NCPD) is thrilled to announce the theme for Casual Day 2024: "I See You." This theme marks 30 years of Casual Day, celebrating inclusion, visibility, and empowerment for persons with disabilities.

Casual Day has been pivotal in raising awareness and funds to support persons with disabilities across South Africa. Over three decades, it has become a national movement promoting accessibility and inclusivity. The 2024 theme, "I See You," encourages society to recognise and celebrate the contributions and identities of persons with disabilities. It reflects NCPD’s mission to ensure social and economic inclusion.

You can join in the Casual Day 2024 fun by purchasing stickers, wearing merchandise, and sharing support on social media with #ISeeYou. Funds raised provide assistive devices, housing, skills development, and more to empower persons with disabilities.

This year Casual Day has set a target of raising R30 million for persons with disabilities and organisations, schools, and projects in the field of disability. According to the World Health Organisation, 17% of all persons have a disability. By this reckoning, there are approximately 10,500,000 persons with disabilities in South Africa today.
