Seven suspects have been arrested on Monday (24/7) for the farm murder that occurred over the weekend at Sterkfonteindam near Harrismith.
The suspects are scheduled to appear in court soon. They will appear on separate dates in Tseseng and Harrismith on counts of murder, house robbery, car theft, and possession of allegedly stolen property.
The 67-year-old Michael André Pattinson of Summerslie Farm at Harrismith was reported missing by his brother, who was alerted by the farm employees who last saw him on Saturday (22/7), at around 17:00, when they knocked off duty.
When police arrived on the farm, a Toyota Urban Cruiser and two laptops were missing, they also found signs that people were inside the residence.

The car was found at Tseseng Village in Qwaqwa near a certain tavern, with the help of the tracker Netstar.
The suspects were found in the same location where the car was found, but they fled when they realised they were being pursued by the police, prompting the activation of the different police units in Qwaqwa, including the Tseseng Police.
During the pursuit, there was a shootout, and police were able to arrest all seven suspects, including two women.
Two people were injured and put in a nearby hospital under police supervision.
The farmer's body was discovered by the police inside the home with open wounds and declared dead by local Emergency Medical Services personnel.
Two laptops and a camera that were suspected to be the deceased's were found.
