Free State-born referee dies in accident─── LUCKY NKUYANE 20:51 Sat, 21 Jan 2023
Free State-born Premier Soccer League (PSL) referee, Moeketsi Molelekoa, died in the early hours of Saturday 21 January 2023, in a collission with the bus liner, Interstate.
Both Molelekoa and his passenger have died on the scene.
Provincial Emergency Medical Services (EMS) spokesperson, Sipho Towa, confirmed that medical service officials attended to the scene in the early hours of Saturday at Botshabelo outside Bloemfontein.
Towa says the driver and passenger were unfortunately declared dead on the scene.
Meanwhile, the Stakeholder Relations Manager at Interstate, Vuyo Ondala, confirmed to OFM News that they were alerted about the accident at around 05h50.
There were no passengers on the bus.
"There was two fatalities in the red car, a [man] and a [woman], with no injuries on the bus. The bus was travelling from our depot in Botshabelo going to its starting point to load its first trip," Ondala added.

In November 2022, OFM News reported that a bus travelling from Thaba 'Nchu to Bloemfontein collided head-on with a Klerksdorp-based truck on the N8, killing seven people on the spot.
The death toll later rose to nine.
