Over 450 cars on the N8 road near Petrusburg, outside Bloemfontein in the Free State, were stopped and checked during the road safety campaign launched on Tuesday 13 December 2022.

According to the Free State MEC for Police, Roads and Transport, William Bulwane, 470 cars were checked, 80 fines were issued and 3 illegal immigrants were arrested. The stop, check, and arrests come after the province launched its festive season safety campaign on Tuesday.
