A memorial service is being planned for the five children who died after a truck crashed through the gate of Potchefstroom's Vyfhoek Primary School.
The N12 road is immediately adjacent to the school. Learners were waiting there on Friday for their transport back home when a truck crashed through the school's fence.

It's likely that the truck's tire ruptured, which led to the driver losing control of the vehicle.
North West Education spokesperson Elias Malindi has meanwhile said learners have been relocated to another school nearby.

He adds counselling for learners and teachers will continue on Monday. The driver of the truck is unharmed and the police are investigating the crash.
