FiTSA hopeful on reopening of gyms─── 13:09 Thu, 13 Aug 2020
FiTSA believes any announcement by President Cyril Ramaphosa on the easing of lockdown regulations will include the reopening of gyms.
Health clubs and gyms around the country have been closed since the start of the Covid-19 lockdown in March.
FiTSA spokesperson Grant Austin says the organisation recently had a promising meeting with the Department of Sports and Recreation.
"They assured us that they are aware of the plight of the fitness industry, the potential job loses and the fact that we have to get our economy restarted.
"We have the Olympic Games around the corner and athletes have nowhere to train. They have given us the assurance that within this week that we are in, we will have a definitive date as to when fitness and health clubs can open.”
