Pretoria - President Jacob Zuma on Sunday night expressed deep sadness and extended his heartfelt condolences to the family of former social development deputy minister, Bongi Maria Ntuli, who died in Pretoria on Saturday.
“South Africa has lost a valuable seasoned servant of the people and a dedicated gender activist, and on behalf of government and all South Africans, we convey our heartfelt condolences to Ms Ntuli’s family. May her soul rest in peace,” Zuma said in a statement.
Ntuli was a disciplined and committed leader and had served the country with distinction during her tenure as deputy minister of social development and of trade and industry.
She would also be remembered for her sterling contribution to the Convention for a Democratic South Africa (Codesa) talks in the early 1990s, he said.
