Van Breda, girlfriend return to court for drugs case─── 10:18 Wed, 19 Oct 2016
Cape Town – Murder-accused Henri van Breda and his girlfriend, Danielle Janse van Rensburg, are set to appear in the Cape Town Magistrate’s Court on Wednesday for alleged drug possession.
Table View Police arrested the couple for alleged dagga possession on September 6.
Van Breda was granted bail of R1 000 and Janse van Rensburg of R200 at their first appearance.
The case was postponed last week due to outstanding paperwork.
The 21-year-old is out on bail of R100 000 after he was charged with the triple murder of his mother, father and brother at their Stellenbosch home last year.
He appeared for a pre-trial hearing in September. He stands accused of axing to death his parents Martin, 54, and Teresa, 55, and his brother Rudi, 22, in their home on the De Zalze golf estate in the early hours of Tuesday, January 27, 2015.
Allegations were previously reported that Van Breda was suspected to have a tik (methamphetamine) addiction, a drug often associated with sporadic violent behaviour.
He had reportedly spent time in a rehabilitation facility.
Henri's blood was never tested after the attack on his family.
Narita du Toit, Henri's aunt, previously told You magazine that rumours that Henri was on drugs, had been in rehab and a psychiatric clinic, were untrue.
