Ahmed Kathrada Foundation remembers school children killed at Westdene Dam | News Article

Johannesburg - Anti-apartheid activist Ahmed Kathrada will accompany 60 young members of the Ahmed Kathrada Foundation to commemorate Youth Day by remembering the lives of the school children who died when the bus they were travelling in plunged into the Westdene Dam 30 years ago.

The Foundation's communications officer Zaakirah Vadi says the deaths of young people should always be remembered.

The programme will include a wreath laying ceremony in memory of the school children who died at the Dam in 1985, followed by a youth-led discussion from Zimbabwe, Uganda and South Africa who will share their perspectives on xenophobia.
