It will be an all-northern CSA T20 Challenge final as neighbours Titans and Lions will face off for the title on Sunday.

The Titans beat Western Province by 19 runs in the final qualifier at SuperSport Park in Centurion on Friday night.  Earlier in the week, the Lions thumped the Titans in qualifier 1 at the Wanderers.

On Friday night, the Titans batted first and set a competitive total of 182/7.  The Titans' top-order all managed to score some runs with Lhuan-dre Pretorius (24), Rivaldo Moonsamy (29), and Abdu Galiem (28) laying a solid platform.  It was allrounder Andile Phehlukwayo, however, who was the star of the show, getting an unbeaten 39 off 16 balls.

For Western Province, Beuran Hendriks and Mihlali Mpongwana both took two wickets each, with Wesley Bedja, Oliver Whitehead and Mthiwekhaya Nabe also taking a wicket each.

Western Province never got going with the bat and two run-outs saw them teetering on the edge on 48/5.  Edward Moore (48) and Oliver Whitehead (40 not out) tried to salvage the innings but it was all over for the men from the Cape on 163/6 in their allotted 20 overs. Former Knights player Gerald Coetzee was the star bowler for the Titans, taking two wickets and only conceding 14 runs in his four overs.

Tomorrow’s final takes place at the Wanderers in Johannesburg and play starts at 14:30.
