According to Jeanette Tshite, the municipality's spokesperson, the water supply will be interrupted from Monday morning 24 July 2023 until late in the evening. She said all sections of the municipality would be affected. The Department of Water and Sanitation is cleaning the water canal, and the local municipality's Water and Sanitation Team is cleaning the water reservoirs.

“We would like to take this opportunity to inform residents in the Ventersdorp region that a water interruption will be implemented in the early hours of the morning until the evening of Monday 24 July, affecting all areas.  

“It is necessary for the scheduled water supply shutdown to be implemented to allow both the Department of Water and Sanitation and JB Marks Local Municipality Teams to do proper work. Cleaning the water canal is conducted regularly in a joint effort by the municipality and the department.”

She added that the local municipality urges residents to gather as much water as possible for the day.

“Water supply will be restored as soon as the cleaning is completed. Cleaning water reservoirs and canals is essential to ensure quality service for the people," Tshite added.
