A cash-in-transit heist has been reported in McKenzie Street, New East End, in Bloemfontein.
According to spokesperson Thabo Covane, the police are aware of the situation.
Medical services VR Med has said the scene is still active. The police are chasing the suspects who are at large.
Videos and photos have been making the rounds on social media, where cars can be seen burning.
Authorities have urged the public to stay away from the scene.
