#GBV: 'Doctor’ accused of rape, sexual assault back in court─── KEKELETSO MOSEBETSI 10:04 Fri, 02 Sep 2022
An alleged bogus medical doctor in the Northern Cape, who is accused of raping and sexually assaulting patients, is expected to again appear in the Kimberley District Court on 2 September 2022 for a bail application.
The National Prosecuting Authority's (NPA) provincial spokesperson, Mojalefa Senokotsoane, previously told OFM News that the accused had appeared in court after allegedly sexually assaulting a 25-year-old complainant. He was subsequently accused of raping a 17-year-old who went to his surgery for a medical check-up. These cases have now been combined.

SABC News reported that the accused is a foreign national who allegedly was in the country illegally and was not registered to practice as a doctor with the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA). Meanwhile, the state says that it will oppose bail and might add more charges.
