Vaal community to plant trees in memory of murdered children─── 10:41 Sat, 13 Aug 2022
Orange Farm residents near Vereeniging wish for the house of the convicted child murderer, Pontso Mohlanka, to be demolished and turned into a small park.
This is according to community leader, Linda Ndebele, who was reacting after the Johannesburg High Court sitting in Palm Ridge found Mohlanka guilty of three counts of murder after she killed three minors in Orange Farm in 2020.
Mohlanka was accused of killing five-year-old Mzwandile Zitho, whose body was hidden between the counter and refrigerator at her tavern in April 2020.
The bodies of eight-year-old Mpho Makondo and six-year-old Simpiwe Mgcina were later found near her tavern.
The community intends to plant trees in memory of the three minor victims.
Sentencing will take place on 13 September in the High Court.
