Seasoned NW journalist passes on─── LUCKY NKUYANE 08:08 Sat, 22 Jan 2022
A seasoned North West journalist has passed on.
Feature writer at City Press, Poloko Tau, is said to have died on Friday afternoon while at his home in Mmabatho in Mahikeng.
Though the cause of his sudden passing has not yet been revealed, his employer, City Press, is reporting that his younger brother confirmed the news of his passing. The publication says Tau's younger brother said the seasoned journalist passed on just before his 42nd birthday.
Tau, amongst others, wrote about the allegations of nepotism in the North West provincial government, which exposed how wives, children and siblings of councillors at Ditsobotla was allegedly irregularly appointed or promoted.
His death has left the journalism landscape shocked with many of his colleagues reeling from the shock of his passing.
His younger brother told City Press that “it is a difficult moment for the family as we are still trying to come to terms with what has just happened".
