Presenter's husband due in Bfn court─── LUCKY NKUYANE 16:10 Wed, 17 Feb 2021
The 39-year-old husband of the Lesedi FM presenter, Dimakatso Raletsane, will make his first court appearance on Thursday in the Bloemfontein Magistrate’s Court in the Free State.
Police spokesperson, Motantsi Makhele, confirms the suspect will appear in court on Thursday. The suspect, who was on the run for allegedly attacking his wife and stabbing her multiple times last week, is set to face attempted murder charges. Mackenzie Ratselane is said to have attacked his wife after a quarrel whilst on their way to fetch their kids at Phase 2 in Bloemfontein. Dimakatso was found lying in a pool of blood with multiple stab wounds near a popular tavern in Caleb Motshabi, known as Dinaweng in the early morning hours of Thursday. She was taken to the Pelonomi Netcare Hospital in Bloemfontein.
The suspect was nabbed by the police in Gauteng at a certain house in Ennerdale, a few hours after the police in the Free State declared him a suspect on the run with a warrant of arrest issued for his arrest.
The warrant of arrest for Ratselane followed several failed attempts to get into contact with him in relation to the brutal attack on the popular presenter. On Tuesday, Makhele said “at about 10:30, the Free State team, supported by the Soweto Flying Squad, arrived at a house in Ennerdale where they found the suspect in hiding".
