An ANC ward councillor from Matlosana in North West is expected to appear in the Klerksdorp Magistrate's Court today for allegedly raping a 15-year-old girl.
Police spokesman Sabata Mokgwabone says the 38-year-old councillor - whose name is known to OFM News - allegedly raped the minor between April and August 2019 in Tigane in Hartbeesfontein.
The councillor allegedly surrendered himself on Monday to the Klerksdorp Family Violence, Child Protection and Sexual Offenses (FCS) unit.
This, after the case was reported to the police on April 30.
Mokgwabone adds the investigation into the matter continues.
Meanwhile, the ANC's acting provincial committee spokesperson, Kenny Morolong, says the party will be communicating its decisions on the matter to the public today.
