Minister of police visits the North West─── 14:51 Thu, 19 Dec 2019
The Minister of Police, Bheki Cele, is visiting the North West today as part of his nationwide visit to assess the impact of the South African Police Service's (SAPS) safer festive season operations.
He also visited mobile police stations in Wonderkop and Marikana, where he addressed concerns raised by community members. Cele says multidisciplinary roadblocks will leave no stone unturned as criminals will be arrested on the spot in order to ensure a safer festive season for all.
He says SARS officials and Veterinarians, amongst others, form part of the safer festive season operations. According to Cele, veterinarians are assessing animals during roadblocks. He says this will help track down stolen stock as well as making sure that animal diseases are not transported from one place to another.
