Masilonyana workers down tools over salaries─── 10:45 Sat, 26 Oct 2019

Employees of the Masilonyana local municipality in Makeleketla, Winburg in the Free State downed tools yesterday.
This follows their concerns that they had not received their payments.
Speaking to OFM News, some employees mentioned that the municipality doesn't take them seriously.
Employees have reportedly set fire to the municipal building and cut off water pipes to the township of Makeleketla.
Cooperative Governance and Traditional Affairs (Cogta) MEC in the province, Thembeni Nxangisa, has however confirmed that all employees were paid later yesterday.
He also asked the employees to be patient with the municipality.
