Eskom CEO positive ahead of release of interim results─── 05:49 Wed, 11 Nov 2015
Durban - Eskom Chief Executive, Brian Molefe, says the parastatal has been able to address the concerns raised by ratings agencies over corporate governance and leadership in the organisation.
Molefe was briefing stakeholders in Durban on Tuesday.
Earlier this year ratings agencies Moody's, Standard and Poor's and Fitch gave Eskom a negative outlook, downgrading their rating to BB plus.
Molefe says he met with the agencies in London recently to address concerns including the number of acting positions in the organisation and load shedding, among others.
Molefe says when he arrived as acting CEO, 70% of the members of the executive committee were acting.
He says currently only one position in the executive committee remains in an acting capacity, a position he says will be confirmed by the end of the year.
Molefe says he is positive about the interim results Eskom will be announcing at the end of this month.
