Kuben Naidoo new deputy SA Reserve Bank Governor─── 13:11 Fri, 27 Mar 2015
Cape Town – President Jacob Zuma on Friday announced the appointment of Kuben Naidoo as Deputy Governor of the South African Reserve Bank (SARB).
“The position of Deputy Governor of the Reserve Bank became vacant when former incumbent Mr Lesetja Kganyago was appointed as Governor of the Reserve Bank with effect from 9 November 2014,” Zuma’s office said in a statement.
Naidoo served as Kganyago’s advisor and was a member of SARB’s Monetary Policy Committee.
“He has also performed work for the Development Bank of Southern Africa and has served as the acting head of the secretariat for the National Planning Commission. Mr Naidoo has also worked at the National Treasury where his responsibilities included education finance, public sector personnel policy, intergovernmental fiscal relations, capital budgeting, budget reform and fiscal policy.”
Naidoo also worked in the Treasury of the United Kingdom for two years.
He holds a Bachelor of Science degree and a post graduatate diploma in public managment from Wits University, as well as a Master of Business Administration from the University of Birminghamin the UK.
“We wish the new Deputy Governor all the best in the execution of this critical responsibility in our country’s socio-economic dispensation,” said President Zuma.
