Municipal Demarcation Board reveals more wards for 2016─── 08:34 Wed, 10 Dec 2014

Johannesburg - The Municipal Demarcation Board (MDB) has officially kick-started the process of gathering public submissions on the boundaries of the new municipal wards ahead of the 2016 local government election.
Board chairperson, Jane Thupana, on Tuesday released draft ward maps that will be used during the upcoming public meetings which start in earnest in mid-January.
Speaking in Kwazulu Natal today, Thupana called on communities to participate in shaping the wards in which they will be exercising their constitutional right of electing their representatives at local level.
She says the journey to the upcoming 2016 local government elections start now.
The Free State will reportedly lose five wards, while the Northern Cape will have 207 wards, up from 194, North West would have 407, up from 383.
