Marumo Gallants will have a heavy Moroka Swallows flavour when they relocate to Bloemfontein and compete in the 2024/25 Premier Soccer League season.

On Tuesday morning the club announced that they have contracted 13 players that played for the Dude Birds during the 2023/24 campaign. Some players have been sold along with their NFD statuts. The team will provide a full squad list once the contracting has been complete.

The coach, Dylan Kerr, who arrived back in South Africa last week has previously coached the Dube Birds as well.

A few weeks ago, Gallants announced their return to the top-flight of domestic football in South Africa after buying the PSL status from the original Soweto giants.

In addition, the club will continue playing under the banner of Marumo Gallants and their home games will be played at the Dr Petrus Molema Stadium, and the Toyota Stadium for bigger matches.

Gallants said regarding the team’s name, they won't be making a change for the coming season, but things may still change going forward.

“In terms of the club's name, the name has been registered for the PSL as Marumo Gallants F.C. for the current season. Should anything change in this regard, the club will update accordingly.”

Regarding their home games the club confirmed they will make us of the Dr Petrus Molemela Stadium in Rocklands, but some games will be contested at the Toyota Stadium in the city.

“The team is excited to return to the Premier Soccer, with home games scheduled to be played at the Dr Petrus Molemela Stadium.

“Larger fixtures will be held at the Free State Stadium, ensuring that fans experience top-tier football in iconic venues.

“The club was humbled by the support received from Free State supporters and stakeholders, and expressed their gratitude for the warm reception.”

Gallants are in the process of preparing for the upcoming season. The PSL is yet to confirm the fixtures for the 2024/25 season.
