Qatar 2022: USA vs England game ends in a scoreless draw─── KAYLA BARKER 16:53 Sat, 26 Nov 2022

Friday night, 25 November, England and the USA’s FIFA World Cup Group B clash ended in a scoreless 0-0 draw at the Al Bayt Stadium in Qatar.
This result leaves the USA unbeaten by the English in a World Cup game to date. The two teams played to a 1 all draw in their last clash at the 2010 FIFA World Cup in South Africa.
In a tense game with a lot to play for, both sides went in guns blazing. The USA entered the game labelled as the underdogs, a tag they were more than happy to run with. The game saw them rise to the occasion and exceed expectations as they outplayed the English for the vast majority of the game.
The English entered the game with full confidence after thrashing Iran 6-2 earlier this week but were left stunned at a scoreless result.
Harry Kane, England’s captain came close to scoring the game’s first goal but was blocked by Zimmerman in a narrow save. Thereafter, the closest the English came to scoring was a failed attempt from Mason Mount at the stroke of half time.
The teams had to share points in light of the draw leaving England at the top of Group B with 4 points and the Welsh left to play, while the USA are standing on 2 points. The Americans are yet to face Iran in a game that will determine whether they make it to the round of 16 or not.
Yesterday’s other games saw Wales lose 0-2 to Iran, Senegal beat Qatar 3-1 and the day saw another draw with the Netherlands vs Ecuador ending in a 1 all score.
The USA are set to take on Iran on the 29 November at 21:00 while at the same time, England will be in action against Wales.
