The national football team, Bafana Bafana, came from behind last night to beat Mozambique 2-1 in their international friendly in Nelspruit.

For Bafana the win was their third on the bounce.

Nelson Daniel Divrassone opened the scoring for the Mambas in the 12th minute, giving the visitors a 1-0 lead at halftime.

The USA-based Bongokuhle Hlongwane equalised for South Africa in the 56th. Just two minutes later, Hlongwane netted his brace for the winner after some nice interplay with Arthur Zwane.

Bafana coach Hugo Broos, said he was happy with their performance.

"I just asked the boys to go on, we didn’t play badly, certainly not," said the 70-year-old Belgian tactician.

"But we played against an opponent who played very, very close to their goal, and then they waited, and then via very quick counters, they tried to be dangerous."

"But we controlled it, we controlled it very good. So I said to them, "Go on, go on and play, let the ball go, don’t run too much with the ball and you can see we can win the game," and we won it."

On Sunday, Bafana will face Angola at the Mbombela Stadium. This match will kick off at 15:00.
