“I thank God because he showed me that ‘Boxi,’ wherever he is, has fulfilled his purpose on earth.”

The Lesotho-born singer and rapper who passed away in an accident on the N1 in the Free State has been laid to rest.

Colleagues, friends, family, and fans gathered in mourning the loss of award-winning singer Bokang Moleli aka Malome Vector as he was laid to rest in his hometown in Lesotho. He was involved in a car accident, which occurred near Koppies, and also claimed the lives of fellow artists Lizwi Wokuqala and director Da Mos.

The accident involved a light motor vehicle that collided with a truck, resulting in the deaths of these talented individuals. Among the passengers was rising star Puleng Phoofolo, who survived the crash but sustained moderate to serious injuries. Phoofolo has since been discharged from the hospital. In a heartfelt statement on her social media, Phoofolo expressed her gratitude for the outpouring of support she has received during this difficult time.

“My life flashed before my eyes, and I cannot thank God enough for His grace and mercy for preserving my life,” Phoofolo said. She requested privacy to process the trauma of the incident but acknowledged the overwhelming support from fans and well-wishers.

Vector's funeral took place in Lesotho on Saturday (10/8), where hundreds of supporters, family, friends, and colleagues gathered to pay their last respects. During the service, Ntate Stanna, a close friend and colleague of Vector, shared poignant memories of their journey together in the music industry.

Stanna recounted how he and Vector, also known as "Boxi," embarked on their dreams in the entertainment world together. He urged attendees to celebrate his life rather than mourn his passing. “I want to thank our parents for allowing us to grow together as friends. ‘Boxi’ was more than a friend to me; he was like a brother, more like my twin. He enjoyed making jokes and was a very peaceful guy. I thank God because he showed me that ‘Boxi,’ wherever he is, has fulfilled his purpose on earth,” said Stanna.
