Workers to meet Clover management, government─── 10:50 Sun, 23 Jan 2022
Hundreds of striking Clover workers will meet with the company's management and a government envoy on Sunday.
They downed tools some three months ago over wage cuts, retrenchments and factory closures.
The General Industries Workers Union of South Africa and the Food and Allied Workers Union are calling for among other things the nationalisation of the dairy company.
However, Clover's management cites a difficult trading cycle and poor economic growth for the restructure.
Earlier this month, striking workers called on government to intervene.
