NW police look into circumstances surrounding 12-year-old boy’s death | News Article

Police in the North West are investigating the circumstances surrounding the death of a 12-year-old boy from Brits, whose body was found on Friday 27 September in the Damonsville Dam.

Onthathile Mogape was last seen five days before his body was discovered, playing soccer with friends at the Damonsville Sports Ground. At the time of his disappearance, he was wearing a camouflage short trouser and a round neck T-shirt with yellow and green stripes.

Police spokesperson, Adele Myburgh, tells OFM News an inquest docket has been opened into the matter. She did not reveal if there were suspicions of foul play in the tragic death. Mogape was a learner at Damons Primary School when he died.

Meanwhile the search for the missing North West girls, six-year-old Bokamoso Keletso from Pudimoe outside Taung and the 7-year-old Kgothatso Molefe from Tlhabane in Rustenburg, continues. Keletso was last seen on Saturday 28 September around midday in the company of her family member who is also six years old and an unidentified man alleged to be mentally challenged in Dryharts village.

Myburgh says the girls intended on waiting for an adult female family member, who was returning home from town with a taxi at around 11:00 am on Saturday. The missing six-year-old girl was “wearing green track suit pants, a sky blue t-shirt and navy blue trainers” when she went missing.

North West police urge anyone with information on the whereabouts of the missing girl to contact police. Molefe was allegedly last seen in a grey uniform along Mokgethi Street in Tlhabane, Rustenburg, in late July getting into a car with two men after one man called her and gave her a chocolate.
