“We came Monday, reviewed the game and then we just locked into Munster. We know that Munster is a quality side with a lot of internationals.”

The Sharks will only be focusing on Saturday’s United Rugby Championship game against Munster in Durban and not fall into the trap of dwelling on past success.

On the weekend John Plumtree’s chargers returned to winning ways by beating the Glasgow Warriors 28-24 at Kings’ Park in what was their first home game of the season.

It certainly did help being able to load their team with no less than sixteen Springboks, however, Glasgow in turn is a team stacked with Scottish internationals as well. It was almost like a Test match between the two teams with a total of 33 internationals who played on the date.

While beating the defending Champions was a big win for the Sharks, however, Munster will want to bounce back after suffering a first-ever defeat to the Stormers. The Irish giants went down 34-19 in Cape Town as they are also a team that contributes significantly to the Ireland national rugby team.

The Springbok fullback Aphelele Fassi who scored a try against Glasgow told OFM Sport that it’s important to bury that win.

“Yeah, I think as you said, we knew that after the game, there were a lot of opportunities that we missed there on the attacking side,” said Fassi.

“On the defensive side, just slipping two trials in the last five minutes isn't a good thing either.

“We came Monday, reviewed the game and then we just locked into Munster. We know that Munster is a quality side with a lot of internationals.

“They want to play like a quick controlled game, so we did our reviews and, we also made our plans on how we obviously want to stop that. We want to implement our game and create opportunities for ourselves as well.”

Saturday’s game between the Sharks and Irish giants at Kings’ Park in Durban kicks off at 16:00.
