The Lions are excited and ready for what will be their biggest game of the season when they face Leinster in Dublin on Saturday in the United Rugby Championship.

Following round five, which was the fourth round of games for the South African teams, the Lions are the only one of the four local teams yet to taste defeat.

It will be one versus two in Dublin with both sides going into the match undefeated with Leinster having won five from five and the Lions are on a four-match unbeaten run.

On the weekend the Lions beat Zebre 10-9 in a wet and cold Parma, while Leinster beat Connacht 33-12. The Lions’ coach, Cash van Rooyen, told OFM Sport that he has no doubt it will be their biggest test to date.

“It’s important to keep on holding on to what has been working for us and to keep on working on the small things that we can fix to become even more consistent,” said Van Rooyen after the win in Parma. “It is going to be an exciting clash next weekend – it is probably the first time, I am assuming, that we will play Leinster’s real A-team and we are playing at the AVIVA Stadium, which we know how proud they are there.

“It’s an opportunity and big week for us, and a lot of focus will go onto us and what we need to do.”

Saturday’s game in Dublin kicks off at 18:15.
