Rose farmer shows off roses at this year’s Bloem Show─── ELSABÉ RICHARD 05:00 Thu, 28 Apr 2022

The Bloem Show was buzzing with activity on Wednesday as people were finally back on the showgrounds after two years due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
One of the exhibitors, Nelly Poonyane, who is the Managing Director of De Plante Roses in Roodewal in Bloemfontein in the Free State, showed off her roses and spoke to OFM News about what inspired her to start planting roses on a large scale.

This rose project was started in 2019 after Poonyane, who is a trained florist and has a background in events, saw a need for a local supplier of quality roses. Prior to that, she and her husband were planting seasonal fruits and vegetables on their farm.
