The Congress of the People (Cope) general secretary and former Free State Education MEC, Papi Diratsagae Kganare, has passed away.
According to the party’s national spokesperson, Dennis Bloem, Kganare succumbed to Covid-19.
He is survived by his wife and children.
Bloem tells OFM News they are saddened by Kganare’s death and are at a great loss.
He describes him as a selfless leader, who always placed the needs of others first and was dedicated to serving the country.
He says he was a founder member who built the party to what it is today and will be greatly missed.
Meanwhile, messages of condolences are streaming in on social media for the friends and family of Kganare.
“We have lost a true Comrade, a committed leader. Our deepest condolences go to his entire family. May his soul rest in peace,” added Bloem.
