Agri SA has received top honours for its role in providing drought support over the last year.
The agricultural organisation scooped the Landbouweekblad Industry Role Player for 2016 title during the annual GWK Icons awards hosted near Douglas at the weekend.
Also among those honoured was Red Meat Producers Organisation Chairperson, Koos van der Ryst, from the Koopmansfontein area. He was named Livestock Producer of the Year in recognition of his excellent farming practices.
On the crop side, Hannes, Vickie and Gerhard Bruwer of Genade Boerdery were named Crop Producers of the Year, in recognition of their overall achievement in several crop categories. According to a statement the whole family is dedicated to the agriculture industry.
