Parys to host Boere Troos festival in aid of farmers─── 11:20 Fri, 25 Mar 2016
Parys - The Community of Parys and the town’s tourism bureau have taken hands to try and support farmers who are suffering because of the drought in the Northern Free State by presenting a fundraising festival.
The Boere Troos Noord-Vrystaat festival is scheduled to take place at Stonehedge in Africa on April 16. According to a statement, funds raised will be used to assist farmers in the Fezile Dabe District, which includes roughly 18 towns in the region.
It will take the form of a good, old-fashioned farm party with dancing, a potjiekos competition and live entertainment. The programme includes the likes of Liza Bronner, DZL, Dewald Dippenaar, MarulaBoom, Piet Pompies and more.
There is an entrance fee which will serve to raise funds while the event is also intended to show farmers who are down on their luck that there are people who care.
