Education has came to a complete halt as all three schools in Koffiefontein remains shut for more than a month now amidst violent protests in the troubled town.
This as residents demand the head of the mayor and her three councillors.
They accuse the mayor of sowing divisions in the community and for failing to deliver basic and quality services for residents.
The mayor has further been accused of awarding tenders to relatives, family members and close friends.
Residents say the unemployment amongst youth in the area is high and the town is crime ridden.
OFM News previously reported that the town has been experiencing unrest as community members took to streets and barricaded roads with burning tyres and rocks.
About 100 residents who were arrested in the area during these protests will appear in court on 5 December to face charges of public violence.
