Bogus doctors to reappear in Rustenburg court | News Article

Two fake doctors and a doctor who allegedly employed them will be reappearing before Rustenburg Magistrate’s Court next week.

Dr Parbold Jogi was released on R50 000 bail yesterday after he failed to disclose that Aboubacar Mabungu and Jimmy Omange were not qualified doctors. The Hawks seized 5000 patient files and expired medicine after a tip-off. Omange, 39, and Mabungu, 36, allegedly charged people R330 for medical consultations at the practice. According to the Hawks’ Tlangelani Rikhotso, an investigation is still underway.

“On the 18th of September 2017, the Hawks in North West arrested Dr Jogi and two other men. The two men were arrested for practicing without the necessary qualifications and the three men appeared at the Rustenburg Magistrate’s Court yesterday. Meanwhile, the two other suspects remain in custody,” explains Rokhotso.

Provincial Hawks Head, Linda Mbana, said that she was confident in her team in this case. “We have had seven successful convictions of these bogus doctors since last year and I am confident that the law will prevail once again,” elaborated Mbana.
