Bartimea special school empowering blind and deaf─── 09:04 Wed, 22 Feb 2023
Bartimea special school for the blind and deaf is known for their determination for developing skills of students in a range of meaningful ways.
Mid-Morning Magic’s Yolanda Maartens is joined by Head Mistress of Bartimea special school for the blind and deaf, Pinkie Matshaseng, in the OFM Family Focus as she challenges you to live without limits. They also talk about what the school does for the community and what their needs are.
The school which is one of the few special need schools in the Free State that caters to learners with disabilities was established in 1962.
The school welcomes all without discrimination, and is a mixed school with daily and boarding programs. Their goal is to help students reach their full potential, maximum autonomy, and best social and economic inclusion in their societies.
Their mission is to empower persons who are blind, partially sighted or deafblind, including visually impaired persons with additional disabilities by means of education, training, development and care towards a fulfilled life and complete citizenship.
