The Junior Proteas will be based in Potchefstroom for the 2024 ICC Under 19 Men’s Cricket World Cup.
South Africa are in Group B for the World Cup, and it’s an exciting group along with England, the West Indies and Scotland.
Potchefstroom is one of five cities that will host games in the World Cup with the others being Bloemfontein, Kimberley, East London and Benoni.
The CEO of North West Cricket Ismail Minty told OFM Sport that they are ready and excited to host the Junior World Cup again.
“We're delighted to be hosting the Under 19 World Cup and even more happy to have South Africa on home soil and we hope to have a great crowd, said Minty.
“Ja, they are in a great group, because they've got England, they've got the West Indies and Scotland as well.
“So, we are happy to be hosting the World Cup against and hosting the Proteas. We are urging everybody to come to the JB Marks Oval and support the South Africans in the Under 19 Cricket World Cup.”
The first match at the JB Marks Oval will be on 19 January when the Junior Proteas take on the Windies.
