“We work really well together and everyone fights for each other which is really nice. There's a real care factor in the team and we want to keep that going as well move towards the goal.”

The ITEC Knights will look to stretch their unbeaten run in Division 2 the CSA Domestic One-Day Cup to four matches on the weekend.

The Knights are heading to Benoni where they will face the Eastern Storm on Saturday.

The Knights top the table quite comfortably following wins over the Garden Route Badgers, SA Emerging team and the Mpumalanga Rhinos.

The allrounder, Patrick Botha, who scored 70-runs against the Rhinos on Wednesday told OFM Sport that said it’s pleasing to see the youngsters playing good cricket, while there is a good vibe within the camp and the players play for each other.

“We're happy with three wins on the bounce and against the Rhinos we probably lost more wickets than we wanted to,” said the Knights red-ball captain.

“The nice thing about it is that the guys showed a lot of patience and there was no panic around. The guys put full trust in each and that's the way we want to move as a squad.

“It was nice getting in on the runs and contributing in the win. We've also had consistent performances from the youngsters - we're really happy about Dian Forrester doing well, Garnett Tarr doing well, Nipho Mpungose has put his name in the hat.

“Monde Maqunqu is also bowling really well for us at the moment. He's maybe not getting the credit in the wickets column, but he is doing a really good job for us. Aubrey Swanepoel has been good for us and he is leading the team really well.

“With Easterns, we've got a job on our hands and we know that as a squad we can do it. We work really well together and everyone fights for each other which is really nice. There's a real care factor in the team and we want to keep that going as well move towards the goal.”

Play at Willowmoore Park is scheduled to start on Saturday morning at 10:00.
