North West police investigate murder after road rage ends tragically─── 16:06 Mon, 14 Oct 2024
Two motorists have stabbed each other to death over a parking spot in the CBD of Mahikeng.
North West police are investigating two cases of murder following the incident in Martin Street on Sunday (13/10). The deceased were aged 32 and 34 respectively.
“Upon arrival on the scene, a man was lying on the ground and bleeding from the neck and ambulance and he was declared dead by emergency personnel,” said North West police spokesperson Sabata Mokgwabone.
“It was further established that the other man whose relatives transported him to hospital, also died.”
The MEC for Community Safety and Transport Management Wessels Morweng has cautioned community members to stop sharing gruesome pictures on social media platforms.
“I am pleading with motorists to be tolerant to one another and report bad driving to our law enforcement agencies that are always available on our roads.”
We plead with community members to stop sharing the pictures and videos of the incident as it is indeed a sad loss that could have been avoided, as they are fathers, family members, friends, and perhaps breadwinners to their families, he said.
‘The NW police commissioner urged community members to always exercise patience’
The North West police commissioner, Lieutenant General Sello Kwena condemned the incident and once more, urged members of the community to always exercise patience and strive to resolve their differences peacefully rather than resorting to violence.
