Police have arrested another suspect connected to an armed robbery at a mall in Heidedal, Bloemfontein.
In January 2022, a group of armed suspects robbed a cash delivery van that was offloading money at an ATM. They then fled in the vehicle, which was later found abandoned
Leroy Mark Ramontso (33) was arrested on Friday (18/8), after investigations by the Hawks. He made a brief appearance in the Bloemfontein Magistrate’s Court on the same day for car theft and robbery, where his case was postponed to 25 August formal bail application.
Free State Hawks spokesperson Zweli Mohobeleli said a warrant of arrest for Ramontso was issued after evidence collected from the mall robbery getaway vehicle identified and linked him to the crime scene.
It’s alleged that the suspect was involved in a series of organised crimes, including the theft of a Nissan bakkie in Bloemfontein on Christmas Day 2021.
