The way in which Katlego Bereng’s body was moved around and used as a decoy for the escape of Thabo Bester proves how the system is not working.

These are the words of Action SA provincial chairperson, Patrica Kopane, after the party attended the Thabo Bester case in Bloemfontein Tuesday morning (8/8).

The case of Thabo Bester and all the accused has been postponed to 11 October 2023.

“As Action SA we are a little bit worried because of the delays that are happening. These delays are caused by small issues,” said Kopane.

The party is concerned about Thabo Bester's complaint about his assets being stolen and why it was raised now.

“It was actually an insult to South Africans when he was mentioning what he had lost and the cost of those things,” added Kopane.

She said the reason they are attending these court cases is to monitor exactly what happens in court so when they decide to take action, they are not doing so based on hearsay.

She further mentioned that those who are responsible for the murder of Katlego Bereng must be held accountable.

“We are here because we want justice,” said Kopane.
