Businesses affected by the Ottosdal protests – VIDEO─── 14:30 Tue, 11 Apr 2023
Ongoing protests by residents of Letsopa near Ottosdal in North West have affected businesses in town with many remaining closed amid fear of looting.
Motorists using the R507 between Ottosdal and Delareyville have also been affected as roads are barricaded at the intersection leading to the township.
The protesters are demanding transparency over the road rehabilitation project that was handed over in February by the Department of Public Works.
Resident Basimane Modirwe said they are awaiting representatives from the department and hope that they will reach better outcomes.
OFM News also learnt that shops belonging to foreigners are also closed.
One motorist told OFM News the situation is an inconvenience because he can't make a detour as it will be too costly for him.
