Police ask help with finding elderly man in Thabong | News Article

The community of Thabong is urged to assist the police in finding a 63-year-old man who was last seen on Thursday 9 March 2023.

Mr Thooane Stephanus Chaka is an elderly man who has epilepsy, according to his wife, Mrs Matshepo Chaka. He claimed to be going to check on his pigs in the kraal when he left home, but he hasn't returned since.

Mr Chaka frequently consumed alcohol at the Lesiba Tavern in Thabong. His wife went there in search of him. The clients told her that her spouse was there but he left. That evening he never went back home.

On Friday 10 March 2023, Mrs Chaka went to the kraal to look for her husband but was unsuccessful. She visited the Bongani Hospital as well, but in vain.

That is when she approached the Thabong Police Station and a case of a missing person was registered and opened.

He was last spotted sporting a red cap, black tekkies with blue stripes, a yellow short-sleeve t-shirt, and brown striped pants. His complexion is fair.

Anyone who can provide information for the safe return of Mr Thooane Stephanus Chaka home, please contact Detective Warrant Officer Gerrie Nel of Thabong Serious and Violent Crimes on cell phone number 082-806-8432 or Crime Stop number 08600-10111.
