The 28-year-old Costa Titch, full name Constantinos Tsobanoglou, collapsed while he was performing at the Ultra South Africa concert at Nasrec on Saturday night 11 March 2023. Police spokesperson in the province, Mavela Masondo, confirmed that an inquest docket was registered on the same evening and a post-mortem will determine the cause of death.

His death comes exactly a month after South African rapper and hip-hop star, Kiernan Jarryd Forbes, also known as AKA, was shot dead. The two, Costa Titch and AKA, have an Extended Play Record (EP) together called You’re Welcome, which was released on 10 September 2021.

The Southern African Music Rights Organisation (Samro) has expressed the sadness of those at the organisation, in losing Tsobanoglou. They have since offered their condolences to the family and friends of the star.

The video making rounds on social media of the day in question shows Tsobanoglou performing when he fell, then one of his dancers helped him get up and he continued performing. However, moments later, he collapsed again and fell off the stage. That is when people rushed to help him.
