Klerkskraal Police in Potchefstroom, North West, have launched a search for the 37-year-old Joseph Motaung.
It is alleged that the suspect is involved in the murder of his girlfriend in July 2022 in Rysmierbult. North West police spokesperson, Adéle Myburgh, says the motive for the incident is yet to be determined and an investigation into the matter is under way.
Police are seeking the public’s assistance to locate the murder suspect. Motaung is a Lesotho National, he is tall and has a slender build with a light complexion. He also has a gold-plated tooth on the right and usually carries a school bag.
Myburgh says anyone with information regarding his whereabouts should contact the investigating officer, Sgt Jarus Mantsho on 060 612 3271. The public is also encouraged to contact their local police station or crime stop on 08600 1011 or use the My SAPS application for anonymous tip-offs.
